2020 Jeep Renegade vs 2020 Chevrolet Trax

So it's finally time for a new vehicle, and you're flabbergasted on where to start? Don't worry; we get it. There are a lot of vehicles out on the market, and finding the right one for you can seem daunting. If you're looking for a vehicle that offers a higher ride height than a sedan, a comfortable interior, and is smaller than a traditional SUV, then we suggest you take a look at the 2020 Jeep Renegade and the 2020 Chevrolet Trax. We've gone ahead and compared these two below so you can decide which is right for you.

2020 Jeep Renegade Power & Handling

The 2020 Jeep Renegade packs a powerful punch, easily accelerates from a stop, and delivers agile handling when going around corners. Under the hood of the Sport and Latitude Jeep Renegade is a 2.4L four-cylinder engine that pumps out 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The Limited and Trailhawk models are powered by a 1.3L four-cylinder engine that outputs 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. The Trailhawk model also comes with a Selec-Terrain Traction Management system and hill descent control.

2020 Chevrolet Trax Power & Handling

The Chevrolet Trax delivers an underwhelming amount of power that disappoints when you're trying to accelerate onto the highway or get back up to cruising speed after coming to a stop at a red light. The 138 horsepower provided by the turbocharged 1.4L four-cylinder engine simply isn't enough for the Trax. The Trax uses a six-speed automatic transmission to shift through the gears and drives power through the front-wheels unless you choose to upgrade to the optional all-wheel-drive system.

2020 Jeep Renegade Features & Design

All Jeep Renegade models start off with fun exterior styling that screams Jeep thanks impart to the iconic seven-slotted grille. The Sport model comes with a fold-flat front passenger seat, a removable cargo floor panel ideal for storing valuables, cruise control, and heated mirrors. The Latitude adds a 7-inch touchscreen, roof rails, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and ambient LED lighting. On the Limited you'll find heated front seats, automatic wipers with de-icers, a heated steering wheel, and remote start. The latter two models can both be outfitted with the Advanced Technology package, which adds forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, an automated parking system, adaptive cruise control, and more!

2020 Chevrolet Trax Features & Design

The base Trax LS model comes with a pretty standard set of features that include a six-speaker sound system, a backup camera, and two USB ports. If you want cruise control and tinted windows, you're going to have to opt for the Tint and Cruise package or the LT trim. The LT model comes with everything listed above plus heated mirrors, a cargo cover, LED daytime running lights, and roof rails. There are a variety of packages available for the LT, including the LT Convenience package, the Driver Confidence package, and the Sun and Sound package. The Premier finishes the lineup off with heated front seats, faux leather upholstery, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Conclusion:

There really is no competition here. The 2020 Jeep Renegade far surpassed the Chevrolet Trax in every department from off-road-capability, power and acceleration, high-tech equipment, and features.
