2021 Jeep Gladiator at San Marcos Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM

The Jeep Gladiator made it's huge debut last year and turned the truck world upside down on its head with its introduction. The Gladiator hit the market with four removable doors, a removable roof, a five-foot steel bed, loads of off-road-oriented features, and of course, Jeep's legendary 4x4 technology. The Gladiator continues to make big waves in the 2021 model year with a new diesel engine joining the powertrain lineup. The Gladiator is also helping celebrate Jeep's 80th Anniversary by coming in a new 80th Anniversary Edition for the 2021 model year. That isn't the only special edition for the 2021 model year either; the Gladiator Willys is also coming to a street near you soon.

ENGINEERED STRENGTH

INCREDIBLE PULLING POWER

Take everything to the adventure. Tow your boat or camper with ease thanks to available Best-in-Class gas towing.

PUT EVERYTHING ON YOUR BACK

The rugged all-steel 5-foot cargo bed with a three-position tailgate and LED cargo lighting offers a Best-in-Class 4x4 payload.

CAPABILITY ELEVATED

FACE THE OBSTACLES

To aid in off-road Navigation, the available Segment-Exclusive forward-facing TrailCam Off-Road Camera offers gridlines that display the path in front of the tires to help you clear obstacles. Plus, an integrated washer lets you clean any mud splatter from the camera with the simple push of a button.

SHOCK VALUE

Branded FOX aluminum-bodied 2-inch diameter shocks transform the performance of Gladiator by using race-proven damping control to provide a comfortable on-road ride and predictable off-road handling in even the toughest conditions.

LUXURY NEVER COMPROMISES

TAKE CONTROL

Gladiator Rubicon offers two impressive ways to maximize your drive. The standard front and rear Tru-Lok® Electronic Locking Differentials offer incredible power delivery to the wheels to help maintain momentum on tough terrain with maximum traction. New for 2021, the rear axle can now be locked in 4HI Mode for use at higher speeds or on the dunes.

THE ART OF ARTICULATION

Engaging the Segment-Exclusive sway bar disconnect results in a 30% increase in front wheel articulation.

BREAK DOWN BARRIERS

MADE OF STEEL

Between strong construction and smart thinking, the rugged 5-foot steel box with integrated tie-downs and available spray-in bedliner is more than ready to handle ATVs, a load of wood for that evening fire and other heavy cargo.

TUCKED AWAY

The available roll-up tonneau bed cover offers lots of versatility; lock it in position for secure coverage or roll it up all the way for full bed access.

A WALK IN THE PARK

PARK WITH PRECISION

The ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System uses sonar sensors located in the rear bumper to detect obstacles behind you. It will sound an alert when you get close to a potential hazard when parallel parking or backing into a parking spot.

EXPERT GUIDANCE

The ParkView® Rear Back Up Camera works with the Uconnect® touchscreen to help guide you when you shift into reverse. Dynamic gridlines show your direction so you can park more accurately.

GO WITH CONFIDENCE

AN EXTRA SET OF EYES

Available Blind Spot Monitoring uses radar-based sensors to detect other vehicles and will alert you if one is traveling in your blind spot zones.

CALIBRATED CONTROL

Available Adaptive Cruise Control with Full Stop automatically adjusts your driving speed to maintain a pre-selected distance from the vehicle ahead. It will bring your vehicle to a complete stop if necessary, all without driver input.

The other special edition for the 2021 model year is the Willys. The Gladiator Willys rides on a set of massive 32-inch mud-terrain tires and is outfitted with rock rails, as well as a limited-slip rear differential. Beyond the special editions the Gladiator lineup consists of the Sport, Sport S, Overland, Rubicon, Mojave, and High Altitude. The Gladiator Sport is now available with LED headlamps and fog lamps, while the Overland is now available with a Trailcam forward-facing off-road camera.

Can you tell me about the powertrain lineup?

Absolutely! We're sure you want to know more about the new diesel engine so we'll cut to the chase. The new powertrain option for the Gladiator is a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 that comes with engine start-stop technology. A new TorqueFlite 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission that has been specifically calibrated for low rpm shifts comes mated to the diesel engine. The standard engine for the Gladiator is a powerful 3.6-liter V6 that pumps out 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. When the Gladiator is paired with the gas-powered the pickup truck can tow up to 7,600 pounds and has a max payload capacity of 1,700 pounds.

What does the Gladiator have for off-road-oriented features?

The Jeep Gladiator is available with a myriad of off-road-oriented features so you can adventure to places you have never been able to before.
