Charging Your Adventure

Charging your Wrangler 4xe is simple. An included Level I charging cable will fully charge the battery in 12 hours while an available and simple-to-use Level II Jeep® Branded Charger can fully charge your Wrangler 4xe battery in approximately 2 hours.

Powering The Trails

Harnessing the power of the sun, the Jeep® Brand is installing solar-powered charging stations on key trails in the U.S. so you can get charged up before taking on the trails.

ELECTRIFIED ADVENTURE

Electric Blue Tow Hooks

The eye-grabbing blue tow hooks signal something distinctly unique while also providing practical utility to pull and tow with the profound strength of Wrangler 4xe.

Know Your Power

The Hybrid Electric Pages on your Uconnect® system give you insightful information about your PHEV engine performance. Get a real-time Power Flow visualization to know where the energy is coming from or check your Driving History stats. Use the Charging Schedule to take advantage of off-peak hours or switch to eSave mode to preserve battery power.

OPTIMIZE EVERY RIDE

E-Save Mode

eSave Mode prioritizes the 2.0L engine. This saves the battery charge for later use. When power demand is low, the engine shuts off. It can also be reconfigured to increase the battery charge as well.

Hybrid Mode

The default mode, Hybrid, combines torque from both the 2.0L turbocharged engine and the electric motors. This combination provides maximum horsepower, instant torque and the best acceleration. Electric power is consumed first.

POWER THROUGH

Water Fording

With a high air intake, sealed electrical connections and moisture-resistant body openings, you can cross creeks, streams and puddles with ease.

Maneuverability

Easily maneuver tight, treacherous trails or navigate around rocks or fallen logs with precision steering systems and high-performance wheelbases.

What is the Hybrid Setup of the Wrangler 4xe?

The Wrangler 4xe is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, otherwise known as PHEV. The main setup of a PHEV is an internal combustion engine, at least one electric motor, and a battery pack that gets most of its charge from an external power source, in this case, a charging cord. The Wrangler 4xe's setup uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 cylinder gas-powered engine. For electric power, one electric motor is mounted on the front of the engine, where the traditional alternator would be. Meanwhile, a second motor is placed inside the transmission, where the torque converter normally is. A 400-volt lithium-ion battery pack powers the electric motors. The battery pack is located underneath the rear seat and sealed off to ensure the Wrangler's water fording depths and protect it from any rugged terrain below. The engine's 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of instant torque is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission and Selec-Trac 4x4. The 4xe system gives the Wrangler the equivalent of 49 MPG, 370 miles of total driving range, and an electric-only driving range of 21 miles.

Can You Tell Me More About the Wrangler 4xe's 4x4 System?

Jeep gave the Wrangler 4xe the full-time Selec-Trac 4x4 transfer case because it is the most intuitive and versatile 4x4 system Jeep offers. Whether you plan on driving in bad weather or tackling rugged trails, Selec-Trac will ensure your traction no matter the conditions. It does this by running in two-wheel drive when road conditions are dry and smooth and automatically switching to four-wheel drive to tackle inclement weather and road conditions. This switch happens automatically without any driver input, which means no pulling levers or pushing buttons to turn on four-wheel drive.

2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Standard and Available Features

As was previously mentioned, the Wrangler 4xe lineup was updated with a fourth trim level. Capturing the Wrangler's long history, the Willys trim now leads off the lineup in front of the Sahara. The Wrangler Willys 4xe features the Rubicon's shock absorbers and rock rails, a Trac-Lock limited-slip rear differential, LED headlights and fog lights, and 32-inch mud-terrain tires. Additionally, you can pick the Willys 4xe out in a crowd because of its exclusive hood decal with the 'Willys' inscription and the 'Electric 4-Wheel Drive' decal on the rear swing gate. The Sahara trim comes next, featuring a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, push-button start, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, built-in navigation, vinyl-trimmed seats, remote proximity keyless entry, 20-inch alloy wheels, and power-adjustable heated side mirrors. Just like the gas-powered Rubicon, the Rubicon 4xe tackles earth's toughest terrain with Rock-Trac 4x4, FOX shock absorbers, an electronically disconnecting front sway bar, hood vents, 33-inch all-terrain tires, hood vents, and high-clearance fender flares. Atop the Wrangler 4xe lineup is the High Altitude trim. This features an attractive full body-color appearance with a body-color hard top, fender flares, side mirrors, and bumpers. Additional features for the High Altitude trim include blindspot monitoring, turn signals on the side mirrors, rear parking sensors, unique 20-inch alloy wheels, and leather-trimmed upholstery.
